LambertDescription :In 1892, an Ontario farm couple agreed to look after an elderly farmer for the rest of his life on the understanding that they would inherit his farm after his death. Shortly afterwards the part of the farmhouse in which the old man was sleeping burned down, and he perished. The couple sold the land and retired to Florida. The most famous detective Canada ever produced, John Wilson Murray, was sent to bring the Grays and their six children back to Canada, where the parents were charged jointly with murder. The husband and wife were to be charged separately, but when the judge ordered the jury at Mrs. Gray's trial to return a verdict of "not guilty", charges against her husband were dropped. Local townspeople took up a subscription to help put the Gray family back on their feet, but when they received the money they disappeared and were never heard from again. <30mn>Langue :EnglishNo original :E-354Remarques : -
