Documentary about Olive Palmer, who married John Diefenbaker in 1953 when she was the widowed mother of a 19-year-old daughter. She died in 1976. Their marriage was the fulfillment of a love affair that had been interrupted 35 years before by a strange quirk of fate. In the meantime, both married other people. This tribute to Olive Diefenbaker is narrated by her daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Weir. Vicky Weir, Olive’s granddaughter, plays the part of Olive in scenes recreated from her early years. Included is film footage of the Diefenbakers with President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip and other heads of state. John Diefenbaker, in sequences filmed shortly before his death, speaks of the happy years he had with Olive. <1h>
