Inscribed beneath images: 37-1949. Eskimo children in the Far North wear caribou clothing whenever such is available. Ordinarily, in the very cold weather they wear two suits - one with the hair inside and the other with the hair outside. This lad is wearing only the one suit. His hood is made of winter caribou. 38-1949. This Eskimo has just arrived from the floe edge and is running to meet the R.C.M.P. The crest on his parka gives his name and Eskimo disc number, a custom that is growing in popularity. 39-1949. "Going home". The young Eskimo lad shown here was causing a little disturbance in the conversation and was sent home by his father. It is fascinating to watch the tuft of caribou hair which shows through the slit in their snow suits. There is nothing comparable to this in civilization. 40-1949. An Eskimo encampment on an island in the Gulf of Boothia, for which the Spring Inspection Flight was searching, is seen at last in the distance. 41-1949. Two Eskimo children at an Eskimo encampment in the Gulf of Boothia. 42 - 1949. The men of the camp come rushing in from the floe edge as soon as the plane is seen hovering over their encampment. Hardly had the Inspection Party arrived at the igloos when the hunters arrived after their speeding dog teams.
