Organized by the National Security Working Group, this conference, titled “Risk, Threat, and the "New Normal": An Interdisciplinary Conference on National Security,” was held at the University of Ottawa on March 4, 2006. This session, led by Maritza Felices-Luna, Professor of Criminology at the University of Ottawa, examined the new normal, its implications, and next steps for the future. The panelists were Mark Salter, Professor of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa, Mike Larson, Chair of the National Security Working Group, and Justin Piché, Vice-Chair of the National Security Working Group. A Q&A session followed the panelists' presentations. The conference was closed with remarks from Wade Deisman, Director of the National Security Working Group. <89mn 50s>
