The sub-series consists of Sheila Grant's research and writings on abortion and euthanasia and her involvement in the pro-life movement. She researched and co-authored the articles "Abortion and Rights", "The Language of Euthanasia", and "Sacrifice and the Sanctity of Life" with Grant, often writing the first draft. (The records of those articles, and chapters of them in Technology and Justice, are found in the Writings series). Sheila Grant also published papers and letters to the editor on abortion under her name alone, gave talks at Right-to-Life events and conferences, and even presented papers on behalf of George at conferences, when ill health prevented him from travelling in the mid-1980s. She was active in the Hamilton Right-to-Life chapter, the Anglican pro-life movement, and Nova Scotians United for Life. The abortion material forms a sub-series here as her working files, though it is not always clear if certain documents were hers or his originally.

The records include her speaking notes for "Threat to Human Life", a talk at Dalhousie (1981); her participation in the Panel on Civil Liberties and Abortion at the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association (1988); and records of her article, "The Non-Human Child" in the Canadian Journal of Family Law (1988). The records for the BC conference include correspondence with Iain Benson, letters from participants with reaction to her paper, notes and conference materials. The sub-series also holds general research files on abortion, euthanasia, and related issues, including neo-natal euthanasia; fetal experimentation; the Stephen Dawson case (1983); the Morgentaler decision (1988); Bill C-49 (1989); and the Sullivan & Lemay case (1991) in British Columbia.
