Department of National DefenceDescription :Raymond Anderson participated in an oral history interview conducted by Dr. John MacFarlane for the Directorate of History and Heritage's History of Aboriginal Peoples in the Canadian Military project. The interview was conducted on 18/09/2001 via telephone between Ottawa and Sandy Hook, MB. . The interview begins with basic biographical information before getting straight to Anderson's enrollment in 1942. He was part of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion and details two jumps that he remembers most: June 5th 1944 jump onto the beaches of Normandy to prepare for the D-Day landing, and March 24 1945 jump across the Rhine into Germany.
