Sub-sub-series consists of maps that were created or maintained by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics that may have been created for a particular project, or maintained as potential base maps (printed maps to be annotated), rather than having been created for reference. Sub-sub-series also consists of undated maps that are difficult to relate to a particular census year. [The Geography Division of the Dominion Bureau of Statistics was largely housed within the census area of the Bureau, but the Division also served other areas of the Dominion Bureau of Statistics for sample surveys and so on.]

Under the header "Census of Canada" are maps for: Ontario (1951), Canada 1961 population (1961), Canada 1971 regional office jurisdiction (1971), and Economic regions of Ontario (undated). Those four maps may have been assembled for a project or contract.

Under the header Miscellanous are: a map for Newfoundland (1955), another for British Columbia (1942), and an atlas titled "Alberta - Sample 5 - Cancelled" featuring map segments mostly pertaining to Alberta (undated, likely within 1952 - 1966 date range).

Sub-sub-series also consists of 29 oversize maps related to 1977 Census Test Sites in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Of those 29 maps, 8 maps are of locations within federal electoral district 47103 Yorkton-Melville in Sasktachewan; and the remainder are for Nova Scotia locations within federal electoral districts 12011 Annapolis Valley and 12009 Halifax-East Hants.

The estimated 100 land maps dating from prior to 1951 are maintained in linked accession record for RG31M 79003/23 (MIKAN 189710). The printed land maps dated anywhere from 1909 - 1948, and are organized by map sheet number (with location also noted). A few maps have annotations (indicating enumeration area, radius from a city, or even health authority) or have been cut to shape. This small collection appears to have been assembled as source place maps (base maps) available for use in various statistical projects.

Sub-sub-series currently consists of one atlas and six maps that accompanied a 1980 transfer of maps related to the 1951 census. Sub-sub-series also consists of material transferred from Statistics Canada in 1979: an estimated 100 land maps dating from prior to 1951, and 29 maps from the 1977 Census Test.
