This series documents the Right Honourable Herb Gray's career as a parliamentarian, representing the Liberal Party in the constituencies of first, Essex West, for three elections and then Windsor West, for an additional ten elections. His almost 40 years of service as a Member of Parliament, from 1962 to 2002, made him the longest continuously serving Member of Parliament in Canadian history. The material focusses on the constituent, and therefore includes a wide range of Windsor-related topics, such as housing, harbour development, local education, airports, federal government offices in Windsor. The series also reflect a Southern Ontario bias, the workings of the Liberal Party, and Mr. Gray's long-standing interest in immigration, foreign investment, auto manufacturing, economic development and income support programs.

Records include correspondence, memoranda, briefings, minutes, speeches, clippings and other textual records.
