This fonds contains the original design artworks, including drawings, collages and model train cars used in the design for the exterior graphics for the 1967 Confederation Train travelling exhibition. The Confederation Train, in conjunction with the Confederation Caravans, travelled across Canada during the 1967 Centennial celebrations bringing Canadian history and artifacts to communities across the country.

The fonds also includes promotional poster prints for the Confederation Train and Confederation Caravans.

Vincent, Peter, 1940- : Peter Vincent, 20 November 1940-, was born in Westow, Yorkshire, England while his parents were evacuated from London during the war. He grew up on Canvey Island in Essex and at age 15 went to Southend School of Art to train as a graphic designer before finding success as a three dimensional exhibition designer.
In 1964, his employer was invited to participate in the design of the 1967 Montreal Expo. Although his employer declined the offer, Peter Vincent was able to secure a position working with the Exhibition Commission in Ottawa working on the exterior graphic design of the Confederation Train and Confederation Caravans in conjunction with graphic designer John Arnold. The Confederation Train's exterior graphics were entirely the work of Vincent, while Arnold and Vincent collaborated on the Caravans.
Vincent also worked on an exhibition promoting Canadian business and commerce in New York through 1967, winning an award from the American Institute of Architects.
Thereafter, Vincent return to Great Britain in late 1967 becoming a freelance graphic designer. His freelancing includes work for the Canadian government designing travel shop windows at Trafalgar Square and internal graphics and showcases for Canada House in London. Vincent also designed exhibitions for organizations including British Steel, United Africa Company (Nigeria), and the United Nations, amongst others.
During his career Vincent has become recognized as a Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
