Roll One: Out-takes and trims from the film Top of a Continent. The roll begins with various shots of the Shell corporation during construction in the north. Aerials shots of the landscape. Interior scenes in a classroom setting with a parish priest addressing the students. Various shots of the class. Shot of an unidentified main street with cars and pedestrians. Shots of a Inuvik settlement along the river. Shots of teepee style tents and people from the community. Shots of fishermen along the shoreline. Scenes of some kind of official visit by a senior member of the military. Exiting a town hall with other officals of the community. Outside he is met by a crowd of Inuvik students dressed formerly. One is seen with a still camera. The group travels to the local airport where the senior military offical departs on a Canadian Armed Forces aircraft. Close up shots of a young aboriginal child. Shots of a woman dressed in a heavy winter parka taking a picture with a camera. Various scenes of the Inuvik Ice Carnival; rifle competition; sled dog racing? and groups of people taking turns skinning a small rodent (skinning competition?). The reel ends with various takes of the head and tail credits of the English and French versions of the film.~Roll two: Various shots and scenes of northern life. Locals hanging out fur skins to dry. Long shot of a church. Scenes of a nearby power plant. More shots and scenes from the Inuvik Ice Carnival; young men try their hand at a rifle competition. Several men use long whips to strike wooden pegs inserted into the snow. Shots of a pilot. Shot of a float with the banner "Inuvik Ice Carnival". Shots of the Hudson Bay Company. Aerial shots. Close-up shots of some of the locals. A child wearing a captains flight cap is shown shoveling snow.
