Title based on the following caption from the NFB Photo Story: Largest judo club in Canada, Toronto's Hatashita Club was formed in 1947 by Vancouver-born Frank Hatashita, who is himself a four-time Canadian black belt champion. Today the club has over 200 members, ranging from grade-school students and stenographers to doctors, lawyers and college professors. Says Hatashita: "Judo is as much a state of mind as a technical accomplishment." Hypnotism is sometimes used in advanced stages of the sport, and the "ke-ai-i", or yell, is used to release energy-giving adrenalin and to unnerve the opponent. Judo is popular among young women, with more than 20 girls enrolled for classes at this club.
