Accession consists of aboriginal and precedential civil litigation records created and/or maintained by the B.C. Region of the Department of Justice.

The accession includes, but is not limited to aboriginal litigation records relating to the Sumas Indian Band, Council of the Haida Nation, Babine Lake Indian Band, Alberni Indian Residential School and the United Church, Kwakiutl Nation Band, Takla Lake First Nation, Squamish Nation, Gitwangak Band Council and the Hospital Employees Union, Musqueam Indian Band and the Canadian Pacific Railway, and the Blueberry River First Nation. Issues include logging rights, environmental clean ups, ADR claims, and constitutional claims. Also present are non-aboriginal precedential civil litigation records regarding the R v. Ertmoed case.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
