Recherche dans la collection - Ship plans for vessels of the Royal Canadian Navy [technical drawing (some microform), textual record]

This accession consists of ship plans of naval vessels, including proposed designs, general class designs for warships, as-built plans for specific vessels commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy, and plans showing major modifications/refits to existing vessels. Plans include profiles and hull plans, rigging plans, general deck arrangements, sectional views, and some detailed plans of major equipment systems. This accession also includes a small collection of ship descriptions of United States luxury yachts from 1940. This survey of yachts represented one major effort to acquire auxiliary patrol vessels -"Armed Yachts"- as a stop-gap measure while the RCN awaited the completion of a fleet of purpose-built escort ships. These records were managed at one time by the Director Publishing and Graphics Services (DPGS), previously known as the Director Documentation and Drawing Services (DDDS).
