Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Passport Office HQ. These records contain files concerning the creation and implementation of the 1973 "Regulations respecting Canadian Passports", the need to create a specific mandate for the issuance of passports which resulted in the "Order respecting Canadian Passports" (1981), the understanding of the Passport Office in respect to the Canadian Human Rights Act, the policy regarding the denial of passport services and passports, and the issuing of machine readable passports. Also included are file pockets of research materials from other nations regarding their passport policies.
