Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Office of the Corporate Secretariat of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and one of its predecessors: the Food Production and Inspection Branch of the Department of Agriculture.

The accession includes but is not limited to records documenting: policy, correspondence, minutes, business plans, and MOU's related to biotechnology, food safety standards, research, CFIA Acts and Regulations, Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Project, risk management, basic labelling and advertising, product inspection, disease control/emergency management, allergens and allergies, import control and enforcement, interdepartmental committees, executive committee and council meetings, and media relations.
