Fagie was born in 1935 to Jewish immigrant parents from Eastern Europe. She kept her Yiddish name to preserve her identity. She describes life in Secular Jewish North Winnipeg. There was a Socialist Coalition at university, which included various groups. While taken with Trotsky, she didn't like Trotskyists behaviour. Fagie almost joined the Communist Party of Canada (CPC), but did not because she had trouble on this issue of Zionism being racist. Fagie went to the Soviet Union as a Peace delegate in 1984. She shares her impressions. She works now for Cuba, and, in the past, used her lawyer's training as an aboriginal defence attorney. She elaborates on her Cuba Solidarity work. Fagie has flirted with the New Democratic Party (NDP). She helped establish a Winnipeg Chapter of an Israeli Peace group. <78mn>Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
