Accession consists of the log books for the CCGS STERNE. This ship was a specialty vessel of the Canadian Coast Guard used for environmental responses in the St. Lawrence River and was based out of Quebec City. The deck log books contain notes pertaining to the daily operations of the ship, including weather conditions, when and where the ship was in harbour, the ship's course, sea conditions, names of lookouts, and general remarks such as comments regarding ice breaking. Entries are signed by both the ship's Chief Officer and Commanding Officer.
