Accession consists of files dating from prior to the creation of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in 1997. Files were created by the former Forestry Section within the department of Agriculture and Agri-Food. While one file deals with the history of the Forestry and Destructive Plant Act from 1964-1990, most files date from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. Files subjects include: International negotiations regarding forestry, Regional organizations, Forestry and Destructive Plant Act, Importation, Exportation, Regulation, and Quarantine, Wood Treatment and Fumigation, Pest Control, and Mill Certification.
