This work is part of a group of sketches drawn by the artist Joe Rosenthal in 1975, at the Toronto Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) Parade. It depicts four women in Tunic costumes with Scalloped Hats, with a similar figure present in the right background. They are taking part in the Parade. The 1975 theme was: "A Compendium of Games." The popular annual festival, begun in 1967 celebrates the music, dance, food and elaborate costumes of Jamaica, Guyana, the Bahamas, Brazil and other participating cultures. Toronto's Grand Parade is the largest Caribbean Parade in North America.
