Nomination meeting for the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) candidate in LaSalle-Émard riding in 1988, during which Paul Edgar Philippe Martin is elected candidate. Includes a photo opportunity with Martin; an outside sequence showing Martin parleying with Voyageur Bus’ employees on strike although the ambient noise cover his voice; the Canadian anthem; a short speech by Mario Tassé, the President of the Liberal association for LaSalle-Émard, presenting the noteworthy people in the assistance; a long speech by Member of Parliament for Blainville-Deux-Montagnes and President for the Quebec wing of the LPC, Francis Fox, regarding Paul Martin father and son as well as the mobilisation of the party for the next general election; a short speech by Pierre [Denijé], the election chairman for this nomination meeting, to announce the nomination by acclamation of Paul Edgar Philippe Martin as Liberal candidate; a long speech by Paul Edgar Philippe Martin concerning his father’s political career, his reasons to start a political career, his experience en the financial world, and his vision of the LPC and the Liberal values; a scum with Martin although the ambient noise cover his voice; a succession of short interviews with Liberal supporters in LaSalle-Émard riding and their views on their new candidate; and a cocktail showing Martin, his wife and one of his sons. <74mn 28s>
