The Ripping Friends was a Canadian animated series created by John Kricfalusi, the original creator of Ren and Stimpy. After he was fired from Ren and Stimpy, Kricfalusi wanted to create a movie that starred the worlds "manliest men" which became the basis for the Ripping Friends. The Ripping Friends were four superhuman, macho brothers who fought all manner of whacky and strange criminals. The development of the series was marked by sporadic and unprepared production and, despite all attempts, could not quite recapture the humor, or the audience, that Ren and Stimpy once held. The series ran for thirteen episodes, from September 2001 to September 2002 before being cancelled.

This item depicts Jimmy the Idiot Boy, a character who is a combination of the DNA of all four RIpping Friends. Jimmy was voiced by artist John Kricfalusi, and was also the official mascot of Kricfalusi's animation studio, Spumco animations. He first appeared after the credits of Ren and Stimpy, and has gone on to be featured in a number of John K's works. This item is an animation still done by one of two production companies, Red Rover based in Toronto or Funbag based in Ottawa. Both studios did animation for the Ripping Friends, with input from John K.
