The series explores major aspects of the development of the radio industry in Canada. This program looks at the early stations. Everyone from radio clubs to furniture merchants and newspapers got into radio broadcasting in the 1920s when small stations sprang up in large and small centres across Canada. The small stations, often using transmitters converted from their original ocean-going use, squeaked and squealed a lot, but they helped break the isolation of rural resdients and brought the world of entertainment within the reach of almost everyone. This program features interviews of Bert Hooper, Earle Connor, E.O. Swan, M.V. Chestnut and Les Horton. <26mn>Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
