Instructional film presented by Henri Gauvin,age 81, of Queen Mary Road, Ottawa, Ontario. He demonstrates various exercises he claims will help keep people feeling young. The introductory text calls them a few simple exercises to keep your muscles healthy. Audio narration begins with the shot of Henri Gauvin getting out of bed. Gauvin then demonstrates the following exercises: massaging his head; stretching his spine by lifting himself off the ground by means of a bar across the top of a doorway and on back of a door; twisting his head around to prevent stiffness and headaches; swinging his arms in large circles to help back muscles; raising his legs over his head while lying down; bending his knees while lying down; massaging his ankles and toes; massaging his hands; filling his mouth with air and then rubbing his face from chin to ears, to prevent sagging muscles; and, just before bedtime, lying on a couch and resting his legs on a large pile of cushions to prevent tired legs. The commentator advises: "do not retire from work or you will shrivel up" and turn into a nuisance. 1. The preliminary Crawley inventory list attributed this to Gaudart Productions but there is no mention of Gaudart Productions on screen, so this seems to be an error. The on-screen credits identify this film as a Phillips Thompson Production.~2. There is no mention in the Canadian Film Weekly Yearbooks for 1957 to 1962 of a production company with the name Phillips Thompson.~3. There is a production file that matches this production number. It is entitled Henry Gauvin: Over 81 and the date cited in finding aid 2402 is 1959. The production file contains only a handwritten note about some production costs such as the fee for the narrator and the cost of recording and film printing, but there is no reference whatsoever to the name of any production company.~4. There is no sound over the opening or closing credits, with only narration to cover the remainder of the film.
