Compilation recording British achievement in the air with Vickers aircraft. Captain John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Whitten Brown pose for the camera before taking off on their epic trans-atlantic flight in 1919. Cut to Vickets "Vimy" bomber taxiing slowly, rising. Ross and Keith Smith take off for the first flight from England to Australia in November 1919. They pose together and the aircraft is shown taxiing, rising slowly. In January 1920, S.S. Cockerell and F.C. Broome pose and board another Vimy, this time modified as an air liner. Cut to Vimy overflying the camera on its way to South Africa. In September 1931, flight Lieutenant J.N. Boothman, A.F.C. and Flight Lieutenant C.H. Stainforth demonstrate the International Schneider Trophy winner the Cikers Supermarine S.6B. The sleek aircraft is alunched down slipway, taxis, takes off and performs speed runs in the extreme distance. Final sequences on a Vickers Wildebeest torpedo plane being loaded with a dummy 45cm Whitehead torpedo, taking off from land, demonstrating torpedo-launching capabilities at speed and in slow motion as it flies by the camera ship. repeat of sequences with a float equipped aircraft. <10mn 30s>
