These records are administrative registry files created by the Pacific Region (Vancouver) headquarters of the Medical Services Branch (MSB) of Health and Welfare Canada in 1971-1978. They relate to the MSB's South Mainland and Vancouver Island Zones, and include one file on the organization, administration and activities of the south Mainland Zone (1971-1974), and six files of routine Applications for Special Medical Treatment (artificial devices and eyeglasses, form MS 8432) with occasional backup letters, for both zones cited, 1976-78.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
