Sound recording of the live portion of nine editions of the CHFI radio series Dance Party, featuring Moxie Whitney and his orchestra broadcasting from the Imperial Room of the Royal York Hotel, Toronto. Whitney introduces the compositions and musicians. Many editions include Whitney's composition Let Me Fill Your Night with Music, played as an opening and/or closing theme.~One edition (that of 18 December 1965) includes performances of: For Dancers Only; March of the Toys, to mark the approaching Christmas holiday; I'll Remember April; Cuando Cuando; Pretty Eyed Baby; medley (Red Roses for a Blue Lady; Apples and Bananas); Downtown; medley (The Christmas Song; White Christmas; Happy Holiday); Brazil Nuts; The Nearness of You.~Another edition (1 January 1966) includes performances of: King of the Road; Charmaine; Come Closer to Me; The Lady in Red; Yeh Yeh; March of the Toys; The Nearness of You; Downtown; It's a Pity to Say Goodnight. 1. Other extent, physical details information - 1 audio reel : polyester, 1/4 track mono, 2 sides, 9.5 cm/sec. ; 18 cm in diam.~2. Each of the four mono tracks contains two or more editions of Dance Party, with some editions split over two tracks. The audio reel box lists the dates and track location of the broadcasts as follows: 18 December 1965, 1 January 1966, and beginning of 8 January 1966 (track 1); conclusion of 8 January 1966, 15 January 1966, beginning of 29 January 1966 (track 4); conclusion of 29 January 1966, 22 January 1966, 5 February 1966 (track 3); 19 and 26 February 1966 (track 2).~3. Audio quality ranges from poor to good. Whitney's announcements are almost inaudible in the 15 January 1966 edition (the box listing bears the comment "poor mikes" by this date). Audio quality also poor on 29 January 1966 edition (the comment "static" is noted on the box).
