The twelth episode in the television documentary series looks at the Allied bombing of Germany between September 1939 and April 1944.~The following topics and events are covered: the origins of the Bombing Command in Great Britain; the offensive against the north German ports; the use of superior bomber aircraft technology; German war production; German home front propaganda; the German Air Defence System; the American 8th Army Air Force offensive; combined Allied bombing strategy; the attacks on Cologne, Hamburg, Schwienfurt, and Berlin; and life in war-time Berlin.~The following shots, scenes and sounds are shown and heard: children killed in a Cologne Children's Home bombing; Churchill's speech regarding the bombing of German cities; an RAF dance party; excerpts from TARGET FOR TONIGHT, a 1941 British feature film; bomber electronic guidance systems; the German Armaments Minister, Albert Speer, speech-making to factory workers; a German Air Defense staff meeting; life for American airmen in London; special bombs hitting the dams of Ruhr, shown in slow-motion; a photograph of the aftermath of a bombing in Hamburg, showing dead and burned civilians; a German newsreel depicting the Reich's fighter pilots joyfully exchanging tales after a victorious defensive sortie; badly injured Allied pilots being led away by the Germans at the scene of a crash; German women at their osts in a radar surveillance unit; and signals and address to fighter pilots by Sir Arthur Harris, Commander in Chief, Bomber Command.~Comments are made by: Hamish Mahaddie, Group Captain, RAF Bomber Command; Arthur Harris, Commander in Chief, Bomber Command; Frau Lore Thran, Cologne Hospital nurse; Albert Speer, German Minister of Armaments; Wilhelm Herget, night fighter pilot; James Stewart, Squadron Commander; General Leon Johnson, Group Commander; John Corcoran, American pilot; John Rogen, navigator, American bomber crew; Hans Brunswig, Hamburg Fire Chief; Ben Witter, Hamburg journalist; General Curtis Le May, US Commander; Werner Shroer, Luftwaffe day fighter; General Adolf Galland, Luftwaffe; General C.
