He speaks about such subjects as: receiving the Lasker Award for his work in rehabilitation; becoming Director of Rehabilitation for Prince Edward Island; the rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injuries; his career in Montreal; his decision to leave his career in Montreal; the School of Rehabilitation he founded at the University of Montreal; his work for the Canadian Medical Association; his childhood; his parents; his education; François-Xavier Forest; his service in the Second World War; rehabilitation for injured war veterans; the Department of Veterans Affairs; medical education standards; drug addiction; training in geriatrics; the need for doctors to spend more time speaking with their patients; the tarnished image of the medical profession; the advantages and disadvantages of universal medicare; over-demand for medical services; standards for the keeping of medical records; the benefits of being a salaried physician; fee schedules; the need for governments to consult more with the medical profession on issues pertaining to health and medicine; honorary degrees; and more about his life and work on Prince Edward Island.
