In pen and brown ink, verso, m.r.: Captain / The Hon[ble] Henry John Rou[s]., There is also an inscription, verso, far left, in pen and brown ink which has been truncated on the edge. It refers to the party aboard on their passage from Quebec to England. The party included Lord and Lady Aylmer and their suite.
