Gray reviews highlights of Havel’s career and the Velvet Revolution which changed the political face of Czechoslovakia. Interviewees include: the former head of Czechoslovak state radio; a student; Canadian translator Paul Wilson; Father Vaclav Maly; and Rita Klimova. There is a clip of a performance by a rock band called The Plastic People of the Universe, among whose members was a Canadian translator called Paul Wilson, and which was a part of Prague’s underground culture. Also included is an excerpt of a speech by Havel accepting an honorary degree from Harvard University in June 1995, in which he says that his mother had a dream that one day he would be able to study at Harvard and that politics must do more than reflect the interests of particular groups and lobbies. <23mn 5s>Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
