CKRM Regina talk show featuring an interview with newsreel cameraman and director Roy Tash. The interview was conducted while Tash was on location in Regina to produce THAT MAN MAY LIVE (1953), a sound and colour film for Cockshutt Farm Equipment Limited to be completed by November. Tash discusses the film, stating that it is intended as "a salute to the soil and the tools of the men who cultivate it", with a focus on the history of Canadian farming equipment and methods, from the sickle and scythe to the combine, and modern farming methods. Further discussion focuses on subjects including problems with the shoot including inclement weather; shooting various subjects for the film including a friendly dog at the MacDonald farm in Regina; shooting in Western Canada at the oil wells in Edmonton, Alberta; his early career as a newsreel cameraman, filming notable figures including the King and Queen on the 1939 Royal Tour, Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Prince of Wales and the Dionne Quintuplets. He also discusses changes over the years in film, including the move from black and white film to colour, and silent films to sound. Further discussion includes the beginnings of Associated Screen News (ASN), and its growth from a small staff to several hundred employees. <10mn>
