The maps are: General map of North-Western Canada showing railways and navigable waters; 68.5 x 95; 1 inch to 50 miles. Port Churchill; 45 x 62.2; 1 inch to 400 feet. Port Nelson; 106 x 96; 1 inch to 4000 feet. 1909 is the likeliest date, for in that year, the Dominion government surveyed the two alternative routes. Nelson was chosen as the terminus, in preference to Churchill in 1911. H.B. Railway became part of Canadian Government Railways in 1919. CGR. was taken over by C.N.R. 1923.
