Recherche dans la collection - Sketch Map of country lying between Lake of the Woods and Red River. To accompany Report of A.L. Russell, P.L.S. [cartographic material]

A.L.Russell had been scouting the lay of the land since the beginning of September at Lake of the Woods, ahead of the Commissioners who only arrived at Pembina on Sept. 18, 1872. This sketch map was obviously used in his report to them made on Sept. 20 to plan the work for the remainder of the year.
Shows the Fort Garry Road from the North West Angle of Lake of the Woods. More important, it shows the summer and winter roads from Pembina to Lake Roseau used by the Boundary Commissioners and Surveyors.
