The sheets show (1) Front elevation, east elevation, second floor and roof plan, ground floor plan, grille elevation (NMC 108767) -- (2) Window at landing, window detail, front door, typical door etc. (NMC 108768). Built as early as 1820, first owned by John Blake who sold it in 1832 to James Nickall, a Kingston lawyer. During 1840's Charles Oliver moved in and house became known as Charles Place. Charles Place is particularly interesting to architects for its umbrage, or recessed verandah, a rare feature in Upper Canada.
