This plan is one of three such works enclosed in a letter from Holland to Gage 2 July 1767. Forming part of Holland's Cape Breton and Nova Scotia survey, 1765 to 1768, this plan was ordered by Gage and made by George Sproule (Shipton, p. 84). The site and situation of the fortress are shown, soundings are given and topography and vegetation are depicted. The coloured original is in the William Clements Library, University of Michigan.
