This map shows operating, located and projected railway lines, post offices and other buildings, trails and telegraph lines. The date 1892 has been supplied to this map for several reasons. The Calgary and Edmonton Railway, completed from Calgary to Macleod in 1892, appears on this map. Joseph Royal's term as Lieutenant-Governor terminated in November of 1893. In 1891 the Territorial Assembly was given the power to alter the boundaries of electoral districts at their discretion; the districts of Mitchell, Cannington and Lethbridge, which are present on the map, were used in 1892 (See Note 1).
