Science film using graphics to depict birds from prehistoric to modern times. It shows: extreme close-up of the Pteranodon, pronounced "Ter-anadon", a large bird with long limbs and bat-like wings, its four fingers; dissolve shot to show the skeleton of this bird; pointer pointing to long bone skull which helped the bird to balance while in flight; medium close-up of cartoon drawing of the bird standing on a rock overlooking a lake, a a large worm popping in and out of the water, the Pteranodon gliding off the rock and eating it; close-up of the Ornithomimus, an Ostrich-like lizard that walked on its hind legs, ancestor of the modern bird; shot dissolving to show this reptile with wings (it was known as the Archeopteryx after it grew wings); close-up of the Acheopteryx trying to climb a tree; close-up of this reptile trying to climb a tree, with wings sprouting from his hind legs; close-up of this reptile struggling to take off, and then flying; close-up of the reptile flying; shot dissolving to show early airplane designed by Langley; and close-up of the evolution of the bird from the gliding Pterandon to the modern winged bird, all in dissolve shots.

1. The November 1931 catalogue of the Ontario Motion Picture Bureau calls this OUR FIRST FLYERS, BY GLACKENS (this is probably animator Louis Glackens).~2. Louis Glackens, the creator of this film, died in 1933.
