Map of canoe route is luxuriously illustrated with both wildlife and architectural features that can be found on the route. There are "chatty" liner notes dealing with rapids, portages etc., as well as a translation of certain Cree words to English. This map is one of a series of illustrated Manitoba canoe routes. It is probable that the map is based on Bérard's own canoe trip over the area mapped. This statement is based on the occurrence of quotations from a log found on this map and similar signed notes on the Whitemouth River Canoe Route map. Date was derived from other dated maps of the series.
