This plan shows part of the lower town of Quebec including St. Paul, St. Andrew, St. Thomas, de la Canotterie, and Ramparts Streets, and Parent Square. Part of the wall is shown and measurements are given for a piece of land between the wall and de la Canotterie Street. This land belonged to the federal government. It was purchased c.1847 by the British military in Quebec for defense purposes and was transferred to the federal government in 1871. The municipal government made some attempts to regain this land and this plan might have been drawn in connection with such an attempt.
