The V2 is a copy of a map evidently prepared for the Superintending Engineer's (Phillips') report of 1 July 1905; the report, though not the map is incorporated in D.M. Railways & Canal's annual report, 1906. The immediate source, or sources of the two V1 copies are not known.
The drop in the level at each set of locks in the canal is shown.
