Found in: W. Wood (ed.) The Logs of the Conquest of Canada. Toronto The Champlain Society, 1909. The facsmile is an extract from Thomas Jefferys' "A new chart of the River St. Lawrence" of 1760 (published in Sayer & Bennett's North-American Pilot of 1775). In Wood's essay on the cartography of the St. Lawrence which appeared in The Logs of the Conquest of Canada he stated that the chart was from "the survey of Captain Cook and his assistants for The North American Pilot...1775" (See note 1). There is some doubt as to how much Cook contributed to Jeffery's "A New Chart..." and in 1759 and 1760 Cook certainly was not preparing material for the 1775 North American Pilot (see note 2). The second copy of the map is a photostatic reduction.
