The Canadian National Committee on the International Electrotechnical Commission (CNC/IEC) falls under the operations of the Standardization Branch, International Division of the Standards Council of Canada. The committee consists of a President and fourteen members appointed by the Governing Council.

The CNC/IEC has served as the Canadian member body of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) since 1912 and fell under the jurisdiction of the SCC in 1970 under the Standards Council of Canada Act. It is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the Governing Council on matters relating to Canada's participation in the International Electrotechnical Commission through the Advisory Committee on Standards (ACS). It also coordinates many advisory and technical committees that provide Canadian input to the IEC and encourages accredited Canadian standards development organizations to adopt IEC standards as the basis for national electrical standards.

The CNC/IEC utilizes the work of other standards committees to formulate their position, in particular it draws upon the work of the Canadian Standards Association International steering committees and strategic resource group, and Underwriters Laboratory of Canada (ULC) standard committees.

This sub-series consists of CNC/IEC executive and annual meeting minutes, agendas and other supporting documents distributed to committee members, and may also include files created by CNC/IEC technical committees, sub-committees, secretariats, working groups and task groups.
