Recherche dans la collection - Susan Morse Flewwelling Collection [cartographic material]

Map deposited with the National Archives of Canada by Susan Morse Flewwelling, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, in memory of Phyllis Blakeley, of Halifax. Blakeley was born August 2, 1922 and worked for the Provincial Archives of Nova Scotia for forty years, 1945-1985. She was the first woman appointed Provincial Archivist of Nova Scotia on April 1, 1982, she retired on April 1, 1985. Dr. Blakeley died on October 25, 1986. She had an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Dalhousie University in recognition of her assistance to researchers and her writings on Nova Scotia history and biography. Saint Mary's University also awarded her a Doctor of Letters degree in 1983.

The collection consisting of early cartographic map by Forlani / Zaltier was intially placed on deposit at the National Archives of Canada by the Flewwelling family in 2001. The Donation of the map was finalized in 2010 after the death of Susan Morse Flewwelling on 11 January 2010. Flewwelling had intially received the map from her uncle the late William Inglis Morse.
