Heraldic devices and related material acquired by the Public Archives of Canada in the period from ca. 1880 to ca. 1970 from a variety of sources, including dealers, other vendors, private donors, other government departments, or from unknown sources, which depict the armorial bearings, emblems, flags, or heraldic appurtenances of families, corporations, military organizations and units, or other individuals and organizations active in, or relating to Canada, in the period from ca. 1600 to ca. 1970.

Almost all of these items have never been accessioned, as they were likely acquired prior to 1931, when a systematic accessioning system was put into place. Also included are hearldic items which may have a source, but which are not linked to a current descriptive record as a single item, or as a discrete item.
