"This map of Newfoundland, south of Belle Island, also includes the Magdalen Islands and part of Cape Breton. The coastline is detailed with numerous place-names. A note states that "the inland parts of this island [Newfoundland] are entirely unknown". The map appeared in: London Magazine, vol. 31, August 1762, opposite page 408, illustrating an article entitled. "A Description of Newfoundland". The Collection has 2 other uncoloured copies of this map."
