Cette série contient de la documentation créée ou accumulée pendant la période de septembre 1967 à septembre 1971 alors que Roméo LeBlanc était attaché de presse du premier ministre. Dans ces fonctions, il a d'abord assisté Lester B. Pearson puis, après avril 1968, Pierre Elliot Trudeau.
On trouve entre autres dans cette série douze cahiers de note tenus par Roméo LeBlanc entre septembre 1967 et mai 1970 et qui permettent de suivre au jour le jour ses activités au sein du bureau du premier ministre. La correspondance reçue et envoyée par Roméo LeBlanc dans le cadre de ses fonctions est également présente. LeBlanc répondait à certaines des lettres envoyées au premier ministre lorsqu'elles concernaient les médias ou les demandes d'entrevues et de rencontres. Des copies de quelques lettres provenant du premier ministre ont été conservées. Un dossier contient des mémos échangés entre Roméo LeBlanc et le premier ministre ou d'autres membres du bureau du premier ministre comme Marc Lalonde. Différents sujets sont abordés : des entrevues données ou à donner par le premier ministre, des réunions auxquelles celui-ci doit assister, les relations avec divers journalistes ou médias, des conseils sur les sujets abordés lors d'entrevues ou sur la possibilité de tenir des conférences de presse...
Plusieurs dossiers dans cette série se rapportent à la Crise d'octobre 1970 au Québec. On trouve d'abord une série exhaustive de coupures de journaux canadiens (6 octobre 1970 au 10 novembre 1971), qui permet de bien appréhender l'opinion de l'ensemble du Canada face à la situation particulière vécue au Québec et à l'action du premier ministre Trudeau. Des coupures de journaux étrangers sur le sujet ont également été collectionnées par Roméo LeBlanc. Enfin, un dossier comprend différents documents créés ou reçus par le bureau du premier ministre pendant cette période : copies de communiqués de presse émis par le FLQ, brouillon de l'annonce du 16 octobre sur l'imposition par le gouvernement fédéral de la Loi sur les mesures de guerre, bulletins du Centre d'opération, chronologie des événements, tableaux sur les thèmes positifs et négatifs abordés dans la presse.
Cette série contient également des analyses de journaux faites par des membres du bureau du premier ministre et destinées au personnel de ce bureau ou encore du Bureau du Conseil Privé. Les articles de journaux portant sur les politiciens et la politique fédérale sont analysés et commentés suivant différents thèmes. On trouve enfin dans cette série de la documentation sur certains des voyages et visites effectuées par le premier ministre et auxquels Roméo LeBlanc a participé, notamment une visite à Washington avec rencontre du président Nixon (mars 1969) et une autre en Asie et Australie (Pacific Tour, mai 1970). Enfin, certains dossiers portent sur des conférences constitutionnelles entre 1968 et 1971 et sur la Conférence du Commonwealth de janvier 1969.
