The film is structured according to the dates of Churchill's speeches made between 1940 and 1945. Footage of Nazi gatherings and German warfare and the British war effort during the Battle of Britain are accompanied by Churchill's radio broadcasts on these events. Also shown are: the Japanese invasion of Singapore; the routing of Rommel's army in Africa; the defence of Stalingrad and the westward advance of the Russian Army; and finally, the announcement by Winston Churchill of the German surrender.
