The series consists of records relating to the promotion of the History of the Book in Canada project and books. The HBiC/HLIC team was actively engaged in promoting the project locally at all its project sites, through lectures, interviews, publications, and participation in events such as Word on the Street and printers' fairs, and on a national and international scale through its newsletter, web site, and active role in numerous book history and related conferences. The project newsletter was produced and published annually by HBiC/HLIC and mailed to book history organizations, individuals and institutions around the world. Newsletter files include design specs for the newsletter issue and project logo, as well as drafts, proofs, and published versions of the first (2001) and last (2005) editions (vol. 60). There are also 16 digital photographs gathered as illustrations for the 2005 newsletter.

The web site files document the launch and on-going management of the project web site, and its re-design in 2001 (vols. 60-61). In addition, the series includes articles written by team members about the project, lectures given by team members, flyers, and other items relating to the project's participation in public events (vol. 61); and external promotion such as book launches, general articles about the project, and reviews of Volumes I and II (vol. 62). The series also includes a sample HBiC/HLIC t-shirt and a pair of book earrings given by Carole Gerson to female team members to wear to project mid-term review in November 2002 (vol. 65).
