It includes drafts, notes, manuscripts, proofs and other material related to the writing and publication of his published and unpublished essays, papers and novels, notably At John O'Dogs (unpublished), Book of Changes, Ned Mouse Breaks Away, Odd's End, Some of the Kinder Planets, Stephen Fair, The Boy in the Burning House, The Last Piece of Sky, The Maestro = The Survival Game, Tumbledown Hill, and the Zoom Trilogy. It also contains records related to songwriting, personal and professional correspondence, promotional material, contracts and other legal documents, newspaper clippings and photographs.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Wynne-Jones, Tim, 1948- : Writer of childrens' books, teacher, journalist and songwriter, Tim Wynne-Jones was born in Bromborough, Cheshire, Great Britain, in 1948. He is the son of Sydney Wynne-Jones and Sheila Beryce and is married to Amanda Lewis. He studied architecture at the University of Waterloo (B.A., 1975) and York University (M.F.A. ,1979). He performed as a professional musician and worked in visual art and design. He started his career as a full-time writer in 1980. Columnist for the Globe and Mail from 1985 to 1988, he became editor at Red Deer College Press from 1989 to 1996. He has thought children literature courses at the University of Ottawa. He is a Faculty Member of the University of Vermont's writing for children & young adults programs, Children Literature New England.
Tim Wynne-Jones is the author of numerous short-stories, picture books and novels. He is best known for for his fiction as well as his critical writing and teaching in the field of children literature. He is a two-time winner of the Governor General's Literary Award for Children's Text : in 1993 for Some of the Kinder Planets and in 1995 for The Maestro. His many awards also include the Seal First Novel Award for Odds End (1981) ; the Arthur Ellis Award (Best Crime Writers of Canada) and the Edgar Award (Mystery Writers of America) in 2000 for The Boy in the Burning House (2000).
