Cette série témoigne de la carrière diplomatique d'Hector Allard. On y trouve des documents portant sur ses premières activités en tant que secrétaire à la légation du Canada à Washington, dont deux causeries présentées à la Maison française de Washington en 1938 et 1939, ainsi que le texte d'un discours au sujet des relations canado-américaines (1941). Pour la période mexicaine, on trouve un texte portant sur l'histoire de la légende de Guadeloupe, probablement écrit par Marie-Nicole Allard, ainsi que deux lettres de Hugh Keenleyside, ambassadeur pendant le séjour d'Hector Allard comme chargé d'affaires à Mexico. La période mexicaine est surtout documentée par des photographies, dont divers portraits de Maire-Nicole et Hector Allard, des photographies prises lors de dîners officiels, un portrait de Katherine Keenleyside, des photos du chanteur Raoul Jobin (1906-1974) prises lors d'une prestation offerte sur les ondes de la radio XEDP à Mexico ainsi que des photos représentant le couple Allard avec des amis dont Raoul Jobin et son épouse (la soprano Thérèse Drouin) et Jean Morel, chef d'orchestre.
La période bruxelloise est documentée grâce à la transcription d'une entrevue radiophonique donnée par Hector Allard au sujet des activités du Conseil économique et social (ECOSOC) des Nations-Unis et une série de photographies, notamment en compagnie de la peintre belge Irene Hammerlinck (1903-), ainsi qu'avec l'ambassadeur du Canada à Bruxelles, M. Victor Doré et son épouse, lors d'activités officielles. Cette série contient également un album de photographies présentant les nouveaux bureaux de l'ambassade du Canada à Bruxelles.
Cette série comprend aussi des discours, des coupures de presse ainsi que des lettres de nomination et un rapport sur les activités d'Hector Allard comme délégué canadien pour l'Organisation internationale pour les réfugiés au Canada ainsi que des photographies, dont une montrant Hector Allard à Halifax lors de l'événement commémorant l'arrivée du 100 000e émigrant au Canada, le 6 août 1951.
Les activités à titre d'ambassadeur à Cuba, à la République dominicaine et à Haïti sont documentées par les certificats de nomination comme ambassadeur ainsi que des photographies. On trouve notamment des photographies d'une visite officielle d'Hector Allard au président Fulgencio Baptista, une photo d'Hector Allard lançant le première balle lors d'un match de baseball opposant le Canada et Cuba à la Havane en 1958 et une photographie de Marie-Nicole et Hector Allard à bord du Brittannia, faisant la liaison La Havane-Washington-New York-La Havane.
Quant aux documents qui témoignent de son rôle d'ambassadeur au Danemark, cette série contient des lettres de la reine Élizabeth II (copies) adressées au président de la République de Cuba et au président de la République dominicaine pour annoncer l'arrivée d'Hector Allard en poste, au président de la République dominicaine pour annoncer son départ en 1959, ainsi qu'une lettre au roi du Danemark pour annoncer le rappel d'Hector Allard au Canada. La période danoise est également documentée par un livre de visites de l'ambassade, un album de réception, des coupures de presse, un article écrit par Hector Allard intitulé « Aspects du Groenland » (en français et en anglais) avec la version publiée dans la Revue de géographie, une brochure décrivant le corps diplomatique international à Copenhague, dont Hector Allard était le doyen, des notes, le discours d'adieux prononcé par Hector Allard à son départ de Copenhague en 1967 ainsi que de la correspondance et un exemplaire vierge d'une carte de Noël officielle envoyée par l'ambassade du Canada et représentant les bâtiments de l'ambassade à Copenhague. On trouve également de nombreuses photographies de visiteurs (le ministre Maurice Sauvé, la mairesse d'Ottawa Charlotte Whitton, l'inspecteur John Holmes, M. et Mme Sellars, consul général d'Australie, et de divers événements officiels dont l'inauguration du vol Moscou-Copenhague-Montréal, la cérémonie du changement de drapeau lors de la création du drapeau canadien en 1965, le mariage de la princesse Margarethe, où le couple Allard avait été invité, etc.
